Women in Tech Accelerator Kenya – Cohort 9 (Funding: USD 10,000)

Overview

The Women in Tech Accelerator Kenya – Cohort 9 is a 12-week entrepreneurship program funded by the Standard Chartered Foundation and implemented by Village Capital and iBizAfrica Incubation Centre at Strathmore University. The program supports women-led, tech-enabled startups in Kenya through business training, mentorship, networking opportunities, and access to equity-free grant funding to help founders scale sustainable and impactful businesses.

Eligibility

• Women-led startup with the principal founder being a woman.
• Founder must be between 18 and 35 years old.
• Founder must be a Kenyan citizen or permanent resident.
• Business must be headquartered and operating in Kenya.
• Startup must be legally registered as a for-profit business.
• Business should have between 1 and 10 employees.
• Must possess a valid Tax Compliance Certificate.
• Annual revenue should be between KES 500,000 and KES 1,000,000.
• At least one woman founder and one full-time founder must be based in Nairobi, Kenya.
• Business must be tech-based or tech-enabled.
• Startup should address social, economic, or environmental challenges aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
• Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) are encouraged to apply.
