Overview
The ESD Okayama Award 2026 is now open for applications, recognizing outstanding Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) initiatives worldwide. Organized by the City of Okayama, Japan, the award supports impactful projects that promote sustainability, community development, and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Selected projects will receive funding and international recognition, along with an opportunity to present their work in Japan and engage with global ESD stakeholders.
Eligibility
- Open to organizations worldwide
- Projects must focus on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)
- Projects must have been implemented for at least 3 years (as of April 2026)
- Must demonstrate impact in sustainability, education, or community development

Selected ventures will receive €25,000 in non-dilutive funding, tailored accelerator support, global visibility, and a sponsored trip to Amsterdam for the Award Ceremony (26–30 October 2026). The program is designed to empower women entrepreneurs driving scalable and sustainable impact globally.
